. Koritza Seeking Repeat at Lincoln Has Six Opponents in Harvey Purse; Challcote, McCreight Carry Bishop Colors in Sprint LINCOLN FIELDS, Crete, Hl June 2. Thursdays feature race at Lincoln Fields, a three-quarter mile event for four-year-olds and older horses, is titled the Harvey in honor of the Cook County town of that name some miles north of this Will County track. Among those named for the Harvey is the six-year-old gelding, Koritza, a winner here on May 21, "second day of the current homecoming meeting. It was Kor-itzas third success of the year. Koritza has changed halters through being claimed on several occasions since the first of the year. On March 5 at Gulf-stream Park, in a race in which he finished in a dead heat with Royal Castle six lengths in front of their closest rivals, Koritza was claimed by the Chicago newspaperman, Dave Feldman, who races in the name of his wifes Blossom Stable.. It was the third consecutive race in which the gelded, son of Heliopolis Newbattle was claimed. He was taken again in the May 21 race which he won at this track, the new claimant being John Beck. In the Harvey Thursday Koritza will carry the colors of that southern Illinois horseman who acquired him for ,500. The gelding was bred at the Kentucky farm of Mrs. T-Vi TTnr-f mVinco rnlnrc moro maflp famous by Reigh Count and the latters son, Count Fleet. Others Ndmed The six opposing Koritza in the -Thursday feature include Challcote and McCreight, coupled as" the, entry of William Hal Bishop, perennial leading trainer in Illinois; Howard A. Jones Far Echo, W. C. Tacketts Frosty Face, G. R. Whites Lucky William, Clifford Lusskys Tuonine. The Bishop entry could well be the public choice on the strength of McCreights consistent record. On January 9 at the New Orleans Fair Grounds, McCreight was second to the good mare Betsy T. A few days later he beat Betsy T. a neck, but she turned the tables on him when they met the third time, the mare winning while McCreight was unplaced. Last year McCreight won eight races, and placed in 11 others. Far Echo, a four-year-old gelding by Pavot Compote, bred and owned by the Chicagoan, Howard A. Jones, finished second to Cullerton on opening day at this meeting. It was his third start since winning four consecutive races at Santa Anita ! last winter. j The Texas-owned Lucky William won twice at Hot Springs earlier in the season.
