Card Trick About Ready For Debut as Sophomore Works Well at Belmont as Dense Fog Obscures Some Early Trials BELMONT PARK, Elmont, L. I., N. Y., June 2. A dense fog obscured the horses during the early hours of the training period at Belmont Park this morning. Among those who could not be timed accurately through the -haze was Woodvale Farms Goyamo, who was yesterday with drawn from the June 10 dispersal sale of the late Royce G. Martins stock. The son of Goya II. rapped a tendon in the running of the Preakness, but trainer Woody Stephens recently said that he would have to gallop the colt before he could determine the seriousness of the injury. Marian C. OConnors La Corredora, who is a candidate for the 5,000 Top Flight Handicap at a mile and a sixteenth next Wednesday, also was dimly seen through the murk, but couldnt be timed. Among those who were clocked was Hasty House Farms imported Mister Black. This South American, who may be seen in the Frere Jacques Handicap on the grass course on closing day, June 12, breezed a half in :53. Mister Black has raced well on dirt tracks since his purchase last winter, but was acquired primarily as a grass course performer. Greentree Stables Card Trick, who won the Flash Stakes and other races last year, but has not been seen since finishing second in the Ardsley last fall, indicated that he is about ready to make a belated sophomore debut when he went a handy five furlongs in 1:01 this mornings. Bill Winfrey sent a trio of Alfred G. Vanderbilt horses three furlongs from the gate this morning. The former stakes horses Social Outcast and First Glance were clocked in :35, while Hail Fellow was timed a fifth faster. All three" wdrked handily. Arthur Godfreys Lord Willin, who was reported to have bucked a shin in his recent debut, but who looked as though he had bucked both shins before his debut, breezed three panels in :38 this morning.
