News From Virginia WARRENTON, Va., June 10. Mrs. George P. Greenhalghs mare, On The Rocks, by Grand Time, recently foaled a chestnut colt to the Service of Imp. Beau Gem. She will be bred back to Mrs. M. E. Persons South American stallion, Imp. Endeavour IX Robert Motch, who stands the stallion Se Marriage at his Coleswood Farm at Keene, near Charlottesville, announces that to date 20 of the mares that have been bred to his stallion have been examined and pronounced, in foal. Much interest was shown in this horse since being sent to this section of the state the beginning of the breeding season. Dr. P. A. OKeefe announces the recent sale of the three-year-old gelding, Yock Bill, by Pot o Luck, out of Babs. This colt, Yock Bill, was sold to E. S. Hineman. Hubert Phipps, whose Rockburn Farm at Marshall sends word of the loss of a top foal by Air Hero, out of Dacalina, by Dauber, as a result of a twisted intestine. This foal, dropped earlier this spring, was an outstanding individual, according to many horsemen. Mrs. George P. Greenhalgh announces that her imported mare, Gold Haven, by Fair Haven, foaled a chestnut colt by Royal Charger, and according to Leslie Combs XL,- at whose Spendthrift Farm Royal Charger now stands, this is the first foal of this stallion to be foaled in the TJ. S. Gold Haven will be bred back to Battlefield. Mrs. Greenhalgh also stated that her mare, Felicita, by Niccolo del Arco, out of Sylvan Songstress, is reported in foal to Ace Admiral. Also, her mare, Karakal, by Psychic Bid, has been examined and reported in foal to Roman. The mares Faid Pass, by Blenheim II., and Tedeen, by- Teddy i also from the Springs-bury establishment, have been sentjtb Kentucky, Faid Pass being accompanied by her bay colt by Roman to the court of Daumier, while Tedeen, accompanied by her bay filly by Miche will visit the court of Hill Prince.
