4 Plan to Bring Blue Man Back to Races in Fall LEXINGTON, Ky., June 12. Arthur W. Abbotts Blue Man is being nursed toward a return to the races this fan and will be named to several prominent autumn and winter stakes. The competent son of Blue Swords has been sidelined with a leg ailment and a final attempt is being made to get him back to the races. If he shows indications of standing training, it is planned to send him from the Woodvale Farm in Kentucky to New York in about a month. In the event that it is impossible to get Blue Man to the races, it has been decided to retire him to the Idle Hour Farm of Allen T. Simmons at Lexington, his birthplace, to enter stud duties under the supervision of farm manager Mrs. Helen Stewart. Blue Man was foaled in 1949, his dam being Poppycock, by Identify. That he was cut out to be a top racer is evident by his victories in the Flamingo, Preakness, Dwyer and Yankee Handicap, and he should make a desirable addition to the ranks of top stallions standing in the Blue Grass.
