Joe La Monte Injured in Fall DETROIT RACE COURSE, Livonia, Mich., June 12. Exercise boy Toe La Monte, in the employ of the Theodore D. Buhl stable, was injured during the early morning training period Saturday. La Monte, astride the two-year-old filly, Cheerful Gal, was thrown heavily when his mount bolted during a drill. The young reinsman was taken to Mt. Carmel hospital, suffering from rib, facial and knee fractures as well as a broken foot. Dr. I. J. Palmissano, Detroit Race Course physician, is attending La Monte.
