Howard; bred by Woodvale Farm. IN GATE-6:26. OFF AT 6:26 EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good. Won driving; second and third the same. VAIN PURITAN bore in and impeded several horses racing to the front after the start, established a long lead and lasted under punishment to stave off REPRODUCTION. The latter easily settled into a formidable position, closed determinedly through the final drive and was getting to the winner. FAT BOY was crowded by VAIN PURITAN and taken in hand racing to the first turn, recovered nicely to race in closest attendance to the pace, but lacked a rally. SEASCAPE was in close quarters after the start, then raced slightly wide in the drive. FIGHTING FLEET lacked room to join the leaders going to the first turn and was done early. PORT WINDSOR-was eliminated in the jam after the start. Scratched-19686 War Lover, 103; 184692 Book Match, 109; 184753 Hurry-Skurry, 114; 18258 Great Fun, 109. Overweight Dugout, 5 pounds.
