Delaware Loses War of Roses For Stake But Gets Compliment DELAWARE PARK, Stanton, Del., June 12. While Delaware Park lost War of Roses to Belmont Park, it received one of it nicest compliments as consolation. This Saturday Belmonts $.100,000 Belmont Stakes conflicts with Delaware Parks approximately 0,000 Lenard Richards, and trainer James E. Ryan has shipped Mrs. J. R. H. Thourons War of Roses from Dela-. ware to New York. Commenting on the switch, Mrs. Thour-on, who is a daughter of the late Lamont duPont, one time president of the Dupont Company, said: "We regret leaving Delaware Park, with its big wide racing strip with plenty of room to run. But there is only one Belmont Stakes and I would dearly love to win it. Delaware Park is where my heart lies, with its general beauty, and its racing strip so good for the feet of horses. I will be right back after having a try at the Belmont."
