: : Mister Carter Pulls Up Lame LINCOLN FIELDS, Crete, HI., June 12. Mister Carter, promising two-year-old colt who won a division of the Joliet Stakes here recently, came to grief during a workout at Washington Park this morning. After having travelled five furlongs in 1:00 in an excellent trial, the son of Destino, who is owned and was bred by Tom Powell, pulled up lame. Preliminary examination revealed that he had suffered a broken sesamoid bone. The leg will be X-rayed to develop the full extent of the injury.
