Murchison Explains Plan To Aid Nations Boys Del Mar Profits to Be Used to Build, Staff Community Houses BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., June 12.Clint Murchison, who with Sid Richardson purchased controlling interest in the Del Mar race track yesterday, explained later in more detail the plan that he and his partner have in mind for purchasing "major race tracks." It was announced that 90 per cent of the profits from their race track enterprises would be used to set up an organization to be known as Boys, Inc. Further details of the plan follow: "The purpose is to purchase horse racing tracks and use the revenue from these establishments to build and staff community houses for boys. "Since these projects would be-purely for charity, they would be tax free, therefore the money that is now going to the federal government in taxes could be diverted and used to pay interest and principal to those from whom the properties are purchased. "We could give these boys advantages that they never dreamed of. We could give them a start in life that would outstrip anything that any other generation has ever had. "Regardless of race, creed or color, a boy would be eligible to participate under the guidance and leadership of men and women who had been trained to the highest degree in their specialties. "The national board of this project, which we have chosen to call Boys, Inc., - would be composed of the nations outstanding personalities, selected from all walks of life. The operating staff would be composed of men and women who have national reputations in their fields of endeavor. "We do not propose to do away with any of the fine organizations that are helping the youth of our country today. Many of them are doing outstanding jobs. Under this plan, however, we could extend the advantages that are now being offered and we could do it on a scale that others cannot afford to undertake."
