IRRITATE, slow to settle into stride, showed a tendency to lug in while circling the field and could be urged only intermittently to wear down the leaders. ELAND held a forward position from the start, disposed of MOUSEWAY, but was unable to resist the winner. KOULI KHAN saved ground while improving his position to the final turn, was deterred slightly by IRRITATE and continued on willingly. DILLY WHILLY lacked a rally. MOUSEWAY led to the stretch and weakened. SO MILD failed to threaten, as did SPINAKEAL. SUN OLURE, crowded in the run to the first turn, improved his position gradually in the early stages, then lacked further response. Cox claim of foul against the winner for alleged interference at the first turn was disallowed. FRESCHAL raced well to the stretch and flattened out.
