Lightdown Opposes Six In Fort Miami Feature Lucas Again to Ride Aged Mare In Six-Furlong Daniel Boone By W. A. CRUSE Staff Correspondent FORT MIAMI, Maumee, Ohio, May 4. — The Daniel Boone is the title of the feature attraction for Thursday, the 13th day of this 41-day meeting. From all indications, the seven four-year-old and older horses in this six-furlong race will be out to trounce, if possible, L. Dorseys Lightdown. This 11-year-old Moonlight Run mare has shown that, though a bit aged, she still has a great deal of ;run left in her. Un-conquered in four starts this year, she and jockey W. D. Lucas have been a highly formidable pair in rather varied company and over most any condition of raping surfaces. The first victory this season was in a five and one-half furlong dash and Lucas had her a length and one half on top of Red Swivel. That track was fast and the time was 1:11%. Following that race, she turned in a two and three-quarter length victory verdict over Penaway. The time for the six-furlongs, over a heavy track, was 1:20%. She then eked out a nose verdict over a sloppy strip at six-furlongs, clocked in 1:18 flat. For Lightdowns most recent set of brackets, and the fourth in a row, she was moved up to the ,500 claiming brackets and negotiated six-furlongs over a heavy track in 1:18% to be a head the best Of Steve Modrics The Slip. With this sort of record, it is not improbable that she will wind up the odds-on favorite. Rounding out the field are Mrs. J. E. Freshwater s Circulator, Hardest y and Howells Swift Summer, H. W. Wageleys Kingpoise, E. R. Morris* Gallant Dolly, D. J. Martines Zybie and E. Biellas Hankie. Hankie also has several scores to his credit this meeting. Last Saturday, the Vejete gelding took the top on a bunch of ,250 and ,000 platers and coasted to the wire, close to two and one-half lengths the best of Royal Rock, who races in the interest ■*ff*E? A. STmps6n i H~is famewas 1:14% and he should be in line for some
