BlueSparkler Makes Sophomore Bow in Garden State Dash GARDEN STATE PARK, Camden, N. J., May 4. — Blue Sparkler, a filly of stakes calibre during her juvenile year, is scheduled to make her sophomore debut here Thursday in the .cix-furlorig Jim Thorpe Purse The cht ; daughter of Knave High and Blue Tiara, ahome-bred owned by Amory L. Haskells Woodland Farm has been under a steady training schedule from trainer Harry Wells and she is expected to rule a staunch favorite over a rather mediocre field of nine. On Wednesday morning she breezed a half-mile from the gate in :48, a black letter workout of the day; the preceding Saturday she breezed a mile in 1:45%, and the week previous was clocked a half-mile over a muddy track in :52%, breezing. Although she has not been drilled for speed the dockers report that she appears in excellent condition. j I Glen Lasswell, who rode her last year, has been named the rider. Her record last I year showed the Home Bred Handicap at Atlantic City, a victory through disqualification in the Wanda Stakes at a mile and 70 yards at Garden State Park and a second in the New Jersey Breeders Stakes at six furlongs, in which she was disqualified .from the victory.
