PIQUANETTE, slow to attain best stride, came fast when guided to the middle of the track for the stretch run and was along in the concluding strides to outgame KHAN. The latter recovered readily after being in close quarters at the head of the stretch and finished with good courage in a sharp effort. HEED ME, sluggish at the start, moved up with a rush nearing the furlong marker, then faltered as a result of his effort. VELVET tired. GAY SCOT raced wide. TEANECK FLASH was forced to take the overland route leaving the final turn. PUTNEY was outrun. CIRCUS GAL was unable to keep up. ZAHRA retired steadily after flashing brief speed. CANARIS outsprinted his rivals into the first turn to assume a clear early lead and increased his advantage thereafter when subjected to intermittent pressure. HAM BONE raced in closest pursuit of the leader to the stretch, was unable to seriously endanger the latter when set down for the drive, but easily prevailed over the others. COSMOS raced evenly through the late stages without mishap. SILURIAN lacked the necessary rally. DEMI-HEURE tired. SUPERUPPER and the others never were dangerous. PRINCE REGENT, always within easy striking distance, took command with a rush after completing the final jump and drew clear when fully extended. HYRCAN worked his way forward to the near turn, responded to brisk urging during the drive, but was unable to overtake the winner. LOUGH REE moved up boldly on the outside on the final turn, but drifted out nearing the last hedge and was unable to cope with the top pair. SUN RULER II. raced evenly through the stretch without apparent mishap. LONDON and REBEL COAT lacked speed. IRISH PAGEANT never was dangerous. PINE SHOT was outrun. Won easily? second and third driving. MIGRATOR went to the front at once, assumed a commanding advantage nearing the furlong marker and continued on gamely thereafter, winning with speed in reserve. PESTER raced in closest pursuit of the winner to the stretch, was unable to seriously endanger the latter during the stretch run, but held on willingly to prevail over COUNTERMAND. The latter failed to make up appreciable ground during the late stages. EIFFEL BLUE lacked the necessary rally. FISHERFOLK had no apparent mishap. GREEK DRAMA tired. PATROLMAN PETE and BLACK EMPEROR were outrun. HAPPY . NEW YEAR and SHOW BRIDGE never were formidable. CYCLOTRON, a sharp factor from the beginning, took command before going a half mile and steadily increased his advantage, winning as if much the best. DIXIE LAD raced forwardly placed to the stretch, then failed to respond sufficiently when called upon for his best effort. BRADLEY came out to the middle of the track for the drive but, under stern punishment, was not good enough. BEST AUBER passed tiring horses. POT HUNTER saved ground to no avail. HIGH VOLTAGE remained within striking distance of the leaders while between horses during the run down the backstretch, improved her position to the stretch without undue urging and, after replacing SOMETIME THING midway the final furlong, retained a safe advantage under adept handling. SOMETIME THING race MINNIE MOOCHER into defeat to retain a clear advantage leaving the near turn, ducked sharply to the inside nearing the furlong marker, then closed with good courage when straightened. HEN PARTY slipped through next the inner rail leaving the final turn to attain the runner-up position entering the stretch, then faltered. IN RESERVE, slow to gain best stride, closed with a belated burst of speed. COURTESY, forced to take the complete overland route .when starting her stretch bid, finished determinedly when straightened. VILLA and JAVA BELLE were outrun. FLAT SIDE and LADY BALLADIER never were formidable. MINNIE MOOCHER gave way suddenly after six furlongs. SORCERESS, forced to take up sharply on the far turn, was unable to recover.
