BLACK BOUNTY, blocked behind the first flight and taken back on the first turn, was reserved to the final quarter mile, then circled the leaders under punishment and won going away. RESILIENT was rated close to the pace racing between horses, wrested command under pressure in the early stretch, but offered no resistance to the winner. BLIMEY vied for the pace with BROKEN PROMISE, continued well into the last furlong and weakened. SKEETER II. was outrun. BROKEN PROMISE was smartly rated setting the pace next to the rail, but faltered in the drive. ROCK PIGEON assumed command when LAURANNE faltered on the final turn, then repulsed SEARSIE under punishment and-drew clear. The latter,, never far back and gradually Improving position, appeared ready to draw clear taking command between calls on the stretch turn, but drifted out and hung as if short. TOY FOX was steered to the inside for the stretch drive and rallied mildly. PUT OUT began sluggishly, willingly raced into closer contention after a half mile, but did not threaten the leaders. SUNNYMAN was outrun. JERRYS BEST was done early. VALS KID gave a dull effort. FUGITIVE showed nothing. DOVER DAM and LAURANNE quit. Overweight— Jerrys Best, 2 pounds; Vals Kid, 2; Dover Dam, 2.
