King Bebe Outfinishes Hard Sis at Fairmount Gets Decision in Final Strides; Crackices Win Streak Broken By J. J. HAHN Staff Correspondent FAIRMOUNT PARK, Collinsville, 111., June 18. King Bebe, a four-year-old gelded son of Prince Sador Bebeja, bred by and racing in the silks of H. H. Rndle-man, made his seventh start at the meeting a successful one here Friday night when he accounted for the six furlongs Glen Echo Park Purse. A crowd of 7,391 fans, one of the largest Friday night gatherings of the meeting, attended the races. The son of Prince Sador outfinished Hard Sis, coupled with Harquin as the Frisse and Jones entry. Earl Burwells Spring Water was third. King Bebe, bred at Rendlemans Anna, 111., farm, is reputed to have the disposition of racing to horses but refusing to pass them. Last night, the Illinoisrbred gelding met lesser ones and it appeared he was going to try to loaf again when he settled for the drive but his rider, John Delahous-saye would not permit his mount to loaf and had him under terrific punishment in the stretch. An eighth from the finish Hard Sis enjoyed a two lengths lead and at this point King Bebe was forcing the pace and it appeared he would not catch the easy striding leader but under the tactics used by Delahoussaye the Rendleman representative, evidently forgetting his unpleasant habit passed Hard Sis with a terrific burst of speed in the last few strides. In the Bel-Nor, also at six furlongs, Tom Mccartys Crackice went down to defeat for the first time at this meeting. Crack-ice, winner of four straight, came with a belated rush in the stretch but the best he could do was finish third to Whiz-A-Bit and San Andres. Cavalier Trim sprang a surprise when she got through next to the rail to account Sov the third allowance event, the Pasadena Hills Purse, which served as the seventh race. Lewis A. D. was second and rugged boy third. Foe was made the choice here but he could do no better than finish fourth after racing extremely wide most of the way. Apprentice J. Clemens won the daily double events. He handled Calico Rock in the first race and we Depend in the second. The combination paid 54.40. In addition to handling King Bebe, Delahoussaye was also aboard Whiz-A-Bit, winner of the Bel-Nor. Apprentice Larry Gammon tied Delahoussaye, for riding honors, handling Cavalier Trim for his .victory, jjn tlje jsevenjh apd drove home " " Just Free in the ninth race".
