BLACKAMOOR dashed through an opening soon after the start to become a strong contender and, racing on virtually equal terms with GRAND SPICE for the remainder of the trip, bested her narrowly in a drive. GRAND SPICE saved ground throughout and continuing well after being headed, barely missed. MARY BONIFACE staged a steady finish to be close up at the end. BEST WISHES made up some ground. OUR GIFT improved his position in the stretch and was racing well at the finish. ARIS SETUP was always a good contender but failed to threaten to take command at any time. BIG QUESTION weakened. The latter went to the front early and, well rated, held on with rare courage when challenged near the end. FLAG FOX was outpaced to the last furlong, but finished very fast on the inside. HEAD FOR HOME was never too far from the pace and, moving up in the stretch, rushed through an opening near the end to win going away. FIGHTING WHIZ raced on about equal terms with NEAL ELYSE until, well into the stretch and saved ground tohold on well. WORTHY SIS closed fast and gamely on the outside. NEAL ELYSE was used up early and had little left for the final drive. JUMP TUNE tired. MORSE FLASH WAS INJURED IN THE STARTING GATE AND WAS WITHDRAWN ON ORDERS OF THE VETERINARIAN. PELOUSE saved ground but was in close quarters on the inside in the stretch, then came out to finish gamely. UNCASED was always a good contender in a creditable effort. PLATAN trailed to the stretch but finished fast. BUMPER CROP weakened. SPARTAN JETT failed to be a serious factor. PURSUANCE stopped badly in the stretch. HONEYS ALIBI was always within striking distance and moving strongly on the outside of the early leaders after entering the stretch, took a good lead approaching the final sixteenth and held sway to the end under good urging. BLUE LEM trailed for a quarter and was outrun to the stretch, then came with a powerful rush in the middle of the track and was gaining. MAKE READY was in the middle of the pack down the backstretch and seemed to be in rather close quarters, then came steadily through the stretch and finished well. MUNCHAUSEN saved ground where possible and was always a good contender. TRIM DESTINY had early speed but weakened in the stretch.. STYRUNNER made up some ground. D0G00N weakened after leading for about six furlongs. TRAFFIC JUDGE raced on the outside early and went very wide on the stretch turn, but loomed again an eighth out only to falter when put to the test. SPEED ROUSER and HI JET had some early speed. The others were outpaced. The latter vas in rather tight quarters around the far turn, but came to the outside in the stretch and, closing very fast, was gaining rapidly. ARETE was never far away and finished steadily.
