Kentucky Racing to Resume August 3 at Ellis Park OWENSBORO, Ky., June 18. The usual dates of August 3 through September 5 will again prevail for the summer meeting of the Dade Park Jockey Club this summer. The meeting will be the first running races in Kentucky since the close of the spring meeting at Churchill Downs last month. The Dade Park Jockey Club operates the James C. Ellis Park, formerly known as Dade Park, which is located north of the Ohio River bridge three miles from Evansville, Ind. The August 3-September 5 dates fit in well with other meetings in this part of the country. It comes just at the close of the River Downs meeting in Ohio and not too far after the close of racing at Ak-Sar-Ben at Omaha and Fairmount Park, Collinsville, 111. Horses campaigning at these two tracks go a long way to help fill the 600-odd stalls at the James C. Ellis track. The meeting this year will be the 32nd for the Dade Park Jockey Club, but will be the first since the change in the tracks name.
