Mrs. Grahams Filly Runs Third in English Debut Mamounia Finishes Behind Empire Way and Aidos in Fenwolf Stakes Special to Daily Racing Form NEWBURY, Berkshire, England, June 18 Reuters .Mamounia, two-year-old bay filly for whom Mrs. Elizabeth Graham of the United State! paid 1,450 at the John DeWar dispersal sale at the Newmarket December sales last year, made a promising debut in the Fenwolf Stakes at six furlongs here today. Mamounia, by Chantrura Minaret with Harry Carr astride, showed fine speed and took third place behind Lord Milfords Empire Way, odds-on favorite at 8-to-ll and who is rated by many judges as the best juvenile seen on British tracks thus far this year. Empire Way, ridden by Bill Rickaby, turned back Lord Derbys Aidos by two lengths. Aidos took second place from Mamounia in a photo finish. Ten started.. Empire Way sped the six furlongs in 1:13 which is two seconds off the track record. The three-year-old filly Minstrels Gallery, by Tudor Minstrel, broke the five furlongs course record in the opening race." the Albemarle Stakes. Minstrels Gallery, piloted by Charlie Smirke, breezed home a length and a half winner in :59. The previous best time was set 19 years ago by Bally-wellbroke :59.
