Y., June 18. The Queens County Jockey Club is offering three stakes in the impending week of sport at Aqueduct, starting with the second running of the seven-furlong Distaff Handicap for fillies and mares on Monday. This event, which will carry a gross purse of 9,350 if all nine entered this morning go postward, is followed by the 63rd edition of the Tremont Stakes for juvenile colts arid geldings on Wednesday and the 36th running of the Edgemere Handicap at a mile and a furlong on Saturday. All three races promise to be intriguing contests. The Distaff is headed by E. P. Taylors speedy Canadiana with 121 pounds. This swift, but sometimes fainthearted, mare has been training well since her return from her native Canada, where she -won two races not too long ago. Teddy Johnson is slated to ride the daughter of Chop Chop. Second highweight in the Distaff is the 120 pounds that racing secretary "Jimmy" Kilroe has assigned to Mrs. John W. Hanes English four-year-old filly, Queens Beeches. This daughter of Chanteur n. was a winner in England last year and was purchased from Queen Elizabeth n. on the recommendation of Max Hirsch, who thought that her low, sweeping action was suitable to our style of racing. Queens Beeches has been brought along steadily I for her American debut and may give a good account of herself with Bill Boland in the saddle. Holds Decision Over Parlo C. V. Whitneys Dispute, 118; Mrs. Joe Goodwins Oil Painting, 115; Alfred G. Vanderbilts Sometime Thing, 114; Dr. J. M. Lees God Child, :113: T. F. Whites Miss Weesie, 110; Warner L. Jones, Jr.s Black Main, 109, and Stephen Messanas Old Baasket, 108 pounds, complete the field. Dispute is an erratic sort whose last was a dull effort in the Top Flight Handicap, but who beat Parlo and a iine field in the Golden Anniversary Handicap at Belmont Park before that. That victory was preceded by a bad race behind Ros Clag and a good one in which she was narrowly beaten by Evening Out. If the gray filly continues this pattern she is due for a good race on Monday. Paul Bailey will again be in the saddle. Oil Painting, who will be ridden by Hed-ley Woodhouse, "was an easy winner at six furlongs on June .10, with Miss Weesie stopping" to a walk in that race, and before HARRY M. WARNER Owner of Honeys Alibisurprise winner of the Chicagoan. that was a close third to Dispute and Parlo in the Golden Anniversary. The Goya II. filly will be one of the favorites. Sometime Thing recently finished second to the speedy Gandharva in the Betsy Ross Stakes at Garden State and has several other good races to her credit, while the seven-furlong distance seems just what this filly needs. She is topweight on the scale, however, which calls for three-year-olds to receive nine pounds from their elders at this distance in June. Eric Guerin, of course, will ride. Wednesdays Tremont will probably be headed by Lily-Ann Stables Getthere Jack, who rates less than an inch behind Pollys Jet at the head of the-list of Eastern juveniles, while Saturdays 5,000 1 added Edgemere includes among its eligi-bles " such good handicap horses as South-arlington, Straight Face, Maharajah, Palm 1 Tree, Joe Jones, Paper Tiger, Subahdar, Social Outcast, Alcibiades n., Full Flight, ; Red Hannigan, Artismo, First Aid and 1 Brown Booter, not to mention the champion " High Gun, who will not start.
