RUMSON HILL, away sluggishly, gradually worked way forward to the stretch, was sent to the outside for the drive and, closing strongly, wore down the leaders in the last sixteenth. LADDIES SIS, rank during the post parade and at the post, raced forwardly placed from the outset, reached the lead between calls near the finish but could not hold the top one. DOC GEORGE went to the front early, made the pace until inside the stretch, then faltered. SAVATE gave a good effort and had no mishap. MIZ ZARETA held on determinedly and had no. excuse. TANGO FIRST began slowly. MISS HAZEL began well but tired during the drive. GRAND PARIS was never prominent. TULIPA LADY raced wide. LADY RAMON could not keep up. SABRE-BIM raced greenly. COLONEL ZEDER, never far back arid well ridden, raced HY FRONT into defeat during the stretch run, then lasted to withstand TIFFANY. The latter began fast, tiut dropped back after the start and raced evenly to the stretch, closed determinedly when set down in the drive, but could not overtake the winner, although easily best of the others. HY FRONT went to the front early, made the pace to the last eighth, then faltered when challenged by COLONEL ZEDER. KINDER gave ia good performance and had no mishap. VELVET began slowly, was hustled to reach serious contention, then tired. OPEN WAY raced wide. WHITE HART was never dangerous. MARKS ENGINE saved ground while outrun lo the upper turn, moved up boldly entering the stretch and, closing strongly under brisk urging, wore down DRIVE OVER and won going away. The latter, well placed from the start, took command nearing the stretch, settled for the drive with a clear lead, but could not hold the top one. ROSE AND HOUSE, outrun to the stretch, finished strongly in the middle of the track. AMERICAL, forced vide at the upper turn, remained on the outside and closed fairly well under urging. YANKEE ACE failed to stay when set down for the stretch run. MRS. A. B. had early speed but failed to stay. RICHARD tired. DUSKY DOLL swerved repeatedly and her rider was unable to do her justice.
