Butler Joins Businessmen Proposing Rochester Track NEW YORK, N. Y., June 18. James Butler, member of The Jockey Club, announced Friday that he has become associated with a group of businessmen who hope to build a one-mile race course on the outskirts of Rochester, N. Y. Butler, who is flying: to Rochester Monday night and will inspect the proposed site on Tuesday, issued the following statement: "I have agreed to assist a group of representative. Rochester businessmen in their endeavor to establish a one-mile thoroughbred race track outside the city of Rochester. It is premature at this time to discuss further details. However, I hope to be able to announce more complete plans in the very near future." Butler is well experienced in race course management and promotion, having for years been the president of the Empire City Racing Association, which operated the highly successful Empire City track at Yonkers through 1942, then staged its meetings at Ja-,j ;maica tbrosgh 1953.
