Breeding News From California By KENT COCHRAN Staff Correspondent LOS ANGELES, Calif., June 18. Rex Ellsworth has a good sire prospect in Correspondent, five-year-old son of Khaled Heather Time, by Time Maker. The horse is a handsome fellow, of good disposition, and has earned more than 00,000. Two years ago he ran a remarkably fast, race in taking the Blue Grass Stakes and then last year won the Hollywood Gold Cup. Full brother to Heather Khal, winner of the Westchester and placed in several other stakes, half-brother to U-Time, winner of the Hollywood Lassie and Starlet Stakes and to Pere Time, third in the Santa Anita Handicap. Harry S. Hart has the sire prospect Frendswood, Nov. 5, whom lie wishes to turn over to some breeder who will give him a chance in the stud. The stallion is now at Peter Strubs farm, near Chino. Philip F. and Evelyn Winkley, of Philips-burg, Mont., have sold their 12,500-acre ranch and will move their Thoroughbreds to a ranch they own in California, where they will breed horses and registered Herefords. The stock will be moved this fall when the Winkleys return from Europe, where they are now vacationing. The first daughter of Noor to be bred is Inoor. Though only three, the mare fillies regardless of age, are termed mares immediately they are bred visited L. G. Burns stallion, Postwar Valor, this spring. She is owned by Bob Howard and Dave Sawaya, and is from the imported mare Silistria n., the dam of Drumbeat. Sid and Ann G. Simmons, of the Anngee Stable, are breeders as well as racing folk. Their mare, Cominta, by Cohort and dam of Lazy Jo, recently gave birth to a strapping big colt by Cover Up and was bred to Lights Up.
