Sonic had complete control of the situation until they hit the far turn, where Isle of Bond, who had been running second took Command. Amyn Bey at this time, had eventually worked his way up to fourth. Isle of Bond came winging down the home stretch, still fighting it -out with Sonic, when Amyn Bey, as a choice should, ranged on the outside. Sonic,, spent from his early efforts yielded slightly, while Amyn Bey took up the challenge. For a moment at. the sixteenth pole it looked like Isle of Bond was coming on again, but . Amyn Bey had too much for him and simply swished by him in the last 70 yards. The French horse won by an open margin, with Isle of Bond, holding the tiring Sonic by acomfortable decision.
