The 5,000 added "new" New Castle ; Handicap, midway point of Delaware Parks "Distaff Big Three," features the coming weeks sport at this point but will j hy no means be the lone attraction during the six-day span. Preceding Saturdays mile and one-sixteenth event for fillies t and mares will be Wednesdays 0,000 added Christiana Stakes, a five-furlong event for two-year-old colts and geldings, while the week starts with a program high-lighted by the 0,000 added Tom Roby Steeplechase Stakes, ushering in the , local jumping program. The New Castle, which will be followed in one week by the 10,000 added Delaware Handicap, richest race in the world for fillies and mares, figures to attract one of the outstanding fields of the year for members of the sex. The original New Castle was won last year by Shamut Stables Gainsboro Girl and that five-year-old Bernborough mare will return to defend those laurels. To Draw Several Oaks Starters Then, too, the race could attract several starters from todays Delaware Oaks, the ; most prominent prospects being Maine Chance Farms Myrtles Jet, Cain Hoy - Stables Lalun, Walter M. Jeffords Hiber-nia and the Louis Lee Haggin, II. team of Hen Party and Smart Devil. Other Oaks starters who could conceivably be in the ; New Castle field are King Ranchs Sin Igual and Mrs. Edward Laskers Loqua-1 cious.
