MAN OF QUEST, alertly handled, took command at once, settled in the stretch with a clear lead but was hard ridden thereafter to withstand MARTIAL. The latter raced nearest MAN OF QUEST from the start, finished willingly under strong handling but could not overtake the winner and just missed. MISS WILMA VAN raced evenly to the stretch but could not threaten the top pair when set down in the drive. LE CHALL, on the outside for the stretch run, closed willingly. SAMROSGEN tired after making a mild bid in the early stretch. JEFFRI K. had early foot but failed to stay. DAISY CUTTER was never dangerous and drifted, out through the stretch. ROYAL BONES went to the front soon after the start, responded willingly when set down in the drive and lasted to withstand IN DEEP. The latter, a sharp factor from the start, finished determinedly under punishment, but could not overtake the top one. MUSIC began fast, then dropped back and raced evenly in a good performance. NAGS HEAD gave a good effort and raced in close quarters during the final furlong. MARYS FRANK lacked early speed. CHIMAPHILA was outrun and had no mishap. BOLD BANDIT tired during the drive. BROSE was never dangerous. SIEGE lacked racing room during the stretch run. LITTLE DOC showed nothing. SIR WALTER R. had early speed but failed to stay. COLONEL ZEDER raced evenly within striking distance of the leaders to the stretch, assumed command during the drive and lasted to withstand AMBUSHED, but won with little left. The latter gradually worked way forward to the stretch, bore to the inside during the drive and could not overtake the top one, although much the best of the others. DICK JUNIOR went to the front early, set the pace until inside the stretch, then weakened. LITTLE LIGE was outrun and had no mishap. VYR had early speed, but failed to stay. FLYING GYPSY saved ground from the start, made a good "bid entering the stretch, then failed to rally when set down for the drive. COJOC was never dangerous. OISEAU ROUGE showed little. TACARO, on the outside for the stretch run, finished willingly but could not overtake SUFFKI. BUSTER JIM lacked early foot and raced wide throuah the stretch.
