Vantage was under pressure in the sprint to down his stablemate, First Refusal by a half-length margin but it must be remembered that he was making his second appearance of the 1955 season. Unquestionably one of the best thoroughbreds in the big VanBerg string, Vantage won well over 00,000 in the last two years. The appearance of Arson in therKappa Delta entries created considerable interest today along the Detroit shed rows. The Italian importation, shipped here to fill his engagement in the Michigan? Milej was good enough to post a "five-three-five" record last year. Arson closed strongly in that stake and such good performers as Dinner Winner, Old Glendale, Resilient and Royal Bay Gem followed him to the wire. Best supporting offerings on the nine -race week end card are the Flint Elks Purse at six furlongs for three-year-olds and older, and the five furlongs fourth event which matches seven quick two-year-olds. The VanBerg establishment will have a strong hand for major honors in the Flint Elks; Solicit and Black Billings being slated to carry the Cornhusker state-owned stables sliks. Fox Covert Farms Cim-merona and High Authority also hold royal chances for a victory while Boss John, Equimore, Cow Town and Roll Bama complete the probable starting band. C. and P. Alie Gris-soms Gem Path also rate consideration. Other youngsters expected to start are Key Biscayne, Ray N Jay, Missy Ann and Even Strokei
