Giants Sell Monte Irvin to Minneapolis Farm Club MINNEAPOLIS, Minn., June 24 UP. The New York Giants today sold outfielder Monte Irvin to their Minneapolis farm club and purchased second baseman Wayne Terwilliger from the Millers. Terwilliger, who has been batting .303 for the Millers, is a five-year major league veteran purchased by the Millers from Washington last winter. His classy fielding and timely hitting has helped keep the Millers at the top of the American Association standings. Irvin, an eight-year veteran left fielder with the Giants, will be installed in the same position at Minneapolis. He was benched recently after the Giants called up Gail Harris from the Minneapolis team to play first base and sent Whitey Lock-man back to the outfield.
