FLEETING WILL, forced to take up slightly when in close quarters on the far turn, recovered readily to retain the runner-up position to the stretch, took command when ready thereafter and steadily drew clear under intermittent pressure. TEDS TALLY held sway to the furlong marker under steady rating, faltered when challenged inside the stretch and was uanble to cope with the top one. WAY WEST came out to the middle of the track for the stretch run and closed with a belated burst of speed in a sharp effort. RISING TIME raced evenly through the late stages without mishap. NEXT PLEASE moved up menacingly leaving the final turn, then tired. HICKS BEACH began sluggishly. HELLO RITA, slow to attain best stride, was blocked when starting her stretch bid. COUNT CAIN, away alertly, forged to the front before going a half mile and continued on gamely thereafter when fully extended. FIGHTING WISE, slow to gain best stride, vas sent into closer contention leaving the final turn, responded readily when shaken for the stretch run and closed with good energy. KINGS PARK closed with a belated burst of speed in a sharp effort. UPALONG lacked a convincing rally. RESIST was forced to take up sharply when in close quarters near the furlong marker and failed to sufficiently recover. BLACKTYPE finished with good energy and perhaps would prefer a longer distance. IDLE MEMORY and BUBBLING GOLD were unable to keep up. ETERNAL WILL was always outrun. TURFS TOY retired steadily from a rapid start. BLACK SAINT never was prominent. Won driving; second and third the same. DEEPDALE made the pace to the stretch under clever rating and retained a safe advantage thereafter when subjected to stern punishment. EAT AND RUN, within striking distance early, came fast when guided to the outside for the stretch run and steadily was wearing down the winner. ST. MARKS, shuffled back slightly on the final turn, was unable to overtake the leaders when clear during the stretch rim. EXTRAPOISE failed to make up appreciable ground. JIM DANDY drifted out on the final turn and lost all chance.. COLLEGE CHUM raced wide. OLD PROSPECTOR never was dangerous. FLYING CHIEF was through after a half mile. KNOW WHAT was unable to attain the lead and tired. SAYBREAK began sluggishly and trailed throughout. FISHERFOLK saved ground while holding sway to the " stretch, was unable to withstand the challenge of the winner, but held on willingly to prevail over MR. HERB A. The latter, outrun early, rallied too belatedly to seriously endanger the top ones. TACTICAL moved up menacingly leaving the final turn, but faltered when the real test came. BALLYHOOLEY tired. The latter, forwardly placed from the start, was unable to improve i her position when set down for the ultimate test. ICARIAN, reserved back of the early leaders, came to the outside to attain the lead entering the stretch and, though lugging in slightly during the final furlong, continued on gamely to outlast WINNING COUNT. The latter outsprined his rivals into the first turn to assumd a commanding early lead, remained next the inner rail leaving the final turn and, after relinquishing the lead at the furlong marker, held on determinedly to prevail over MEL LEAVITT. The latter moved up boldly between horses to gain the runner-up position entering the stretch, then faltered when punished. LUCRATIVE tired. MING YELLOW trailed throughout.
