St. Louis Cards Acquire Former Aggie Outfielder ST. LOUIS, Mo., June 24 UP. The St. Louis Cardinals today announced the signing of Ron Bennett, an outfielder picked as a member of the NCAA All-College team for 1955. Bennett, who wears glasses, was the star outfielder of the Oklahoma Aggies, which, finished third in the recent NCAA tournament at Omaha, Neb. He was expected to report to the Cards farm club at Omaha within a few days. Bennett was on the Aggie team for four years and was an outstanding hitter, fielder and runner. His batting average this season was near .375 and he stole 27 bases in 30 games.
