KITTY LIGHTNER saved ground while following in close pursuit of the early leaders, was eased to the outside to make her bid on the final turn, lugged in while wresting command in the early stretch and prevailed in a sustained drive. UPALONG had speed from the start, raced along the inner rail and held on gamely. STEFANNE, slow to reach her best stride, swung wide when rallying in the stretch and finished full of run. GAY REAPER was never a serious factor. BLUE LYRIC, prominent from the start, was in slightly close quarters when the winner came over in the early stretch and flattened out while under pressure thereafter. FLEET FIGHTER was always outrun. BETTYS PET bolted while racing in a contending position on the final turn. Kitty Lightner claimed by Suffolk Stable. Fleet Fighter claimed by J. R. H. Thcurcn. SECOND RACE 6 FURLONGS. ONHISTOES, prominent from the start, slipped through along the inside to wear down FIDDLING on the final turn, drew well clear without need of urging and won with something left. HOZAY BOY, badly outrun early, moved along the inside to the stretch where he was brought out between horses and finished full of run. SUNSHINE GINO had speed from the start, raced wide and faltered when set down for the final drive. DOC KANE passed only tiring horses. LADY PHIL bumped with GRANMA MARSHA in the early stretch. FIDDLING had speed for a half mile and tired badly. EDDIE A. BEAR was taken upharply in the early stretch to avoid the spill. GRANMA MARSHA swerved out sharply on entering the stretch, bumping LADY PHIL, came back in thereafter to race up onto FIDDLINs heels, stumbled and fell. LOVELY HILDY broke alertly, raced true along the inside and proved slightly best over FISH in a long drive. The latter had speed from the start, raced greenly on the outside and while attempting to lug in through the final furlong she held on gamely. OUR LIA passed only tiring horses. WEST broke tardily. Won ridden out; second and third driving THIS SIDE gained a striking position early, slipped through along the inside when the leaders swung wide entering the stretch, to take command with a rush, and was ridden out to hold C. 0. DORSETT safe. The latter, forced to steady while in close soon after the start, moved up again boldly but was blocked on entering the stretch, rallied gamely when clear a furlong away and finished with good courage to be easily best of the others. COMETS GLOW raced with *e topflight to. the early stretch where he was carried wide and lacked a rally when roused. NIGHT BELL, slow to settle into stride, was forced to swing wide entering the stretch and finished full of run. ROYAL PATE tired from his pacemaking efforts. MARTYR commenced tiring after going a half mile and should benefit from the effort. VETS BOY raced wide and faltered. FABULOUS FOX could not keep up. Overweight— Eguableu, 1 pound. FLOWER BOWL was -held under snug restraint to the stretch turn where she was sent up on the outside, wore down SILENT ONE entering the last furlong and drew clear with ease. SILENT ONE forced the early pace while inland, displaced ESCA LASS while under pressure ! on the final. turn, but had little left to withstand the belated bid of the winner.
