— — ~ LESTER YEAGER Elect Yeager President Of James G. Ellis Park Succeeds Late Uncle as Head Of Western Kentucky Course HENDERSON, Ky., May 11.— Lester E. Yeager Thursday was elected president of the Dade Park Jockey Club, operators of James C. Ellis Park. Yeager succeeds his late uncle, James C. Ellis. The Western Kentucky oval will conduct his thirty-third annual meeting August 1 through Septem-. ber 3. Yeager has been associated with the local track for several years and also was connected with his uncles business interests. He served as vice-president and associate general manager of the "Dade Park Jockey Club during his uncles ownership. A native of Henderson where he was born in 1899, Yeager, was raised in Rock-port, Ind., by his aunt, Miss Quintero Ellis after his mother died when he was five. His mother was Mr. Ellis sister. He received a bachelor of science in agriculture degree at Purdue University in 1921 and in: 1922 was awarded a master of arts degree ! in agriculture at Iowa State College Ames, la. In addition to his race track activities, Yeager also has been connected with an oil-producing company, Citizens Bank, J Owensboro, James C. Ellis Grain Co. and vast farming operations of Ellis in the Tri-State area. Under the terms of the Ellis will, Yeager is executorand trustee of "the Ellis estate. He recently concluded auction sales of all horses owned, by Ellis.
