j Needles Escapes Riderless Horse After Pimlico Gallop PIMLICO, Baltimore, Md., May 11.— D and H Stables Needles, winner of the Kentucky Derby and favorite for the 80th Prcakness Stakes on May 19, was oil the track at Pimlico this morning: for a gallop once around the oval. Although the outing- was nothing like a workout, Needles* nevertheless got into the news, for while he was being pulled upon on the clubhouse turn, a loose horse came charging in his direction. Trainer Hugh Fontaine, on a stable pony, quickly rode his mount between Needles and the onrushing riderless horse and a crash was prevented. Calumet Farms Fabius also was on the track for a mild gallop to get the " feel of ther Pimlico oval. Fabius was second in the Kentucky Derby.
