BENZEL moved rapidly midway in the backstretch, quickly disposed of CANT OMAR and setting up a clear margin into the stretch, maintained that lead to the end. CANT OMAR disposed of AVIETTE early, but could not withstand the rush of the winner, then went evenly the remainder of the trip. TIN GODDESS closed a good gap from way back. BASES LOADED bullied his way between horses going to the first turn, gained a prominent position on the outside, then rushed boldly to the leader leaving the far turn, entered the stretch with a clear margin and was kept under pressure the remainder of the trip. EASY TRAIL gained a short lived margin between calls after disposing of EUGENE BOY, then could not _ withstand the winner and raced evenly in the final quarter mile. MARACABO lacked a convincing rally. GRASS SKIRT could not threaten with a mild rally. EUGENE BOY stopped badly. Overweight— Maracabo, 1 pound. Attendance, 8,101: Total Mutuel Pool, 57,490.
