Suffolk Cards Olympian Series Of Distance Races for Claimers EAST BOSTON, Mass., May 11.— Suffolk Downs will institute an Olympian series of distance events for claiming horses at the -meeting which opens here Monday. According to the conditions drawn up by racing secretary Gordon Morrow, the series will consist of six events graduating upward from a mile test to the finale of two miles. The races will be run on successive Saturdays starting May 18 and will be alternated between the dirt and grass tracks. The purses will be graduated, too, the first event of theNseries to be worth ,500 and the final route test carrying a value of ,000. The Olympian series will be limited to three-year-olds and upward who have started for a claiming price of ,500 or less since June 30, 1955.
