Armour to Climax Weeks Activities 0,000 Arlington Tests Sophomores Greek Game, Barbizon Head Preview of Classic; Primer Holds Wednesday Spotlight ARLINGTON PARK, Arlington Heights. 111., June 22. — Fred W. Hoopers Greek Game and Calumet Farms 1956 two-year-old national champion, Barbizon, and a host of ranking three-year-olds will step into the limelight in next Saturdays 0,000 added Laurance Armour Memorial, a preview of the 00,000 added Arlington Classic. The seven furlongs* Armour climaxes Arlingtons second week of sport at the northside suburban plant. Wednesdays mid-week headliner is the 5,000 added Primer Stakes at five and one-half furlongs for two-year-olds, Arlingtons first in a five-stakes series for two year-olds. Hoopers highly-regarded Alhambra, a fleet son of Olympia, is expected to head the field for Wednesdays two-year-old feature, the colt following much the same campaign stablemate Greek Game did in becoming last years midwestein two-year-old champion. Alhambra made an auspicious racing bow here earlier this week, the latest Hooper whiz scoring easily over a good field in :59% for five furlongs. Last year, Greek Game won his bow atBalmoral, then made his first stakes start a winning one in the Primer. Leather Button Prospect Rockmoore Farms speedy Leather Button, recent front-stepping winner of Balmorals Joliet Stakes, and Sunny Blue Farms fleet Lincoln Road, winner of his last two starts across town, apear Alham-bras stoutest rivals Wednesday. Also T. A. Grissoms well-regarded Little Reaper and William S. Miller.s Rellim S. W. probably will have something to say about the Primer, outcome. Saturdays Armour Memorial, an event limited to three-year-olds for 1957, promises to lure one of Chicagos swiftest fields for the seven furlongs attraction. Greek Game, winner in his seasonal bow Thursday, will be using the Armour Memorial and the Arlington Classic here to put himself in the running for the 1957 three-year-old crown. The big Olympia colt, winner of both the Arlington Park and Washington Park futurities last year, is making a better-late-than-never appearance in the 5T race, and the way hes been burning up the track in the mornings, he gives every indication hell be among the top three or four sophomores come voting time this winter. Barbizon, whose smashing triumph in last years Garden .State gave him the national two-year-old championship, has been a disappointment of late. However, Jimmy Jones all along has been aiming Barbizon for the Classic and expects greater improvement at this stage of the colts three-year-old campaign. William S. Millers Better Bee recently catapulted into the national three-year-old picture with a smashing triumph in Balmorals one mile Chicagoan. It was Better Bees entrance into the stakes-win-, ner ranks, although the Triplicate offspring earlier was a closing third to Federal Hill in the Derby Trial and third behind Gen. Duke and Iron Liege in the Fountain ot Youth Handicap, to know what its like to keep top-flight company. Reverie Knoll Farms Jet Colonel also must rate serious consideration especially at Saturdays seven furlongs distance. In the Chicagoan, Jet Colonel had the lead at the seven furlongs marker and looked well on his way to victory when Better Bee dropped from out of the proverbial blue to win. Earlier this winter, Jet Colonel twice whipped Barbizon, one a photo decision in the six and one-half furlongs Hutcheson Stakes at Gulfstream Park.
