HI., June 22. — Arlington swings into its second week of racing Monday, highlighting its nine-race program with the ,500 Assault Purse at one mile and one-sixteenth on the turf. Of the seven named, all but one are prepping for the Stars and Stripes Handicap. Candidates are Altan-dbr Farms Blue Volt. Holtsinger and Mc-Ilvains Bernburgoo, John Zitniks Manassas, Valley View Farms -Full Flight and the Mrs. Harry L. Nathensons duo of Blue Choir and Midbntrial. Hasty House Farms Innishowen is the lone Assault starter not eligible for the Stars and Stripes. Blue Volt has shown winning forhi in his only two Chicago starts. He displayed a fine stretch rush here Thursday to overhaul a good field which included Innishowen and Hasseyampa. It was his first outing since he edged the game Sir Tribal in a Balmoral one and one-sixteenth miles grass preview of the Balmoral Turf Handicap. Continental Turf Victor Bernburgoo also looms one of the Assault favorites Monday. The four-year-old colt comes off a fast-closing fourth-place finish in the Balmoral Turf Handicap last Saturday, his ninth start this year and his first since scoring a length and one-half victory in the Continental Turf Handicap at Balmoral. The Continental was Bernbur-goos second triumph this year and his first grass venture. Manassas won two Balmoral starts with ease. His first was a six furlongs spin in 1:10%, winning easily by four lengths over King Bruce II., Dark Toga and Top Mark. His next start was at the Assault distance-. He won that by three and one-half lengths after passing Innishowen and Old Roman at the eighth pole. He has scored in three of seven starts this year. Blue Choir was no better than sixth in last weeksBalmoral Turf Handicap, the eleventh start for the six-year-old horse Who was ranked with the nations outstanding grass horses two years ago. He has managed one win this year, a dirt allowance contest, and shows third in the Dixie, Hialeah Turf, and Continental Turf handicaps. Innishowen comes off a creditable second to Blue Volt here Thursday, the seventh start this year for the Irish import. He shows one win, that last February, on the grass at Hialeah. Full Flight has not won since last April" at Keeneland. Midontrial was unplaced behind Blue Volt and Innishowen. here Thursday in his first start this year. He hasnt won in this country yet and failed in 18 starts last year.
