War Marshal Eyes Repeat Victory at ThitleDown Has Seven Rivajs in Mondays Mile and Sixteenth Headliner By Stafj Correspondent THISTLEDOWN, North Randall, Ohio, June 22. — A varied eight-race program headed by the Worcester Purse, an allowance test for four-year-olds and upward at the distance of one mile and a sixteenth is up for presentation Monday. Offering a purse of ,100 the headliner drew eight performers. C. E. Brown Jr.s War Marshal, a four-year-old son of War Glory and winner of last Mondays featured Painesville Purse, appears well placed to repeat that victory/ He was very impressive in his recent score turning back such as Lady Balladier, Legate and Sacandaga and is very likely to rule post time favorite. He will be handled by jockey Ernest Supiran and gets in the event with 114 pounds. Chief threat to the Brown representative appears to be F. Baldis Dinner Winner, runner-up to the hard-hitting Speak Free in his last outing, the Westlake County Day Purse on June 19. He will be ridden by R. E. Young Monday and shares equal top-weight of 116 pounds with the Ypsi-Bee Farms Boss John. Boss John will be handled by jockey Jack Robertson. Mrs. Virgil Van Dettes SpruceHill Stable will be represented by an entry consisting of Watch Air and Pronto, the Jo De Lorme Stable, Inc. will send out Squire Wilson with jockey Palmer Domenico aboard, Walter J. Shafter Jr. and L. G. Glaziers El Rancho 961 will have their silks sported by Lagrin and D. J. Thomsons Veneration complete the field. E. H. Lanes Aspidistra, a three-year-old daughter of Better Self, appears to hold a strong edge over her seven opponents in the sixth face, chief supporter to the feature. The event is for three-year-olds at the sprint distance of six furlongs. It offers a purse of ,000 and is for racers entered for a claiming price of ,000 down to ,000.
