► ■ : Paper Tiger Ready For Massachusetts Winner of Lincoln Special Joins Wednesdays Suffolk Field; High King to Start By ELI CIIIAT SUFFOLK DOWNS, East Boston, Mass., June 22. — Mrs. Ethel D. Jacobs Paper Tiger, who already made a successful foray into New England this year when he proved best in the Lincoln Special, has been added to the list of starters for the ,0,000-added Massauhcsetts Handicap here next Wednesday. ~" In addition, word was received from Chicago this morning that Joseph Gaveg-nanos High King will also be sent here in quest of the mile and one - quarter -handicap. Thus at the present time it appears that at least a dozen handicap stars will parade postward on Wednesday when the richest race of this 35-day session will be~unfolded for the twenty-third time. Already named as definite starters, along with the above mentioned pair are Mrs. C. Ulrick Bays Greek Spy, C. M. Klines Lofty Peak, Colella and Formas Switch On, Sam Tufanos Wise Margin, Mrs. Joseph Leones Rockcastle, Mclver Pricketts Motor Line, Mrs. Helen Kelloggs Come On Red, William Beatties Park Dandy, Circle K. Farms Illusionist, and Ken-Kelmans Grand Canyon. Paper Tiger Carries 119 Paper Tiger, who is scheduled to carry 119 pounds, proved a proverbial roaring tiger in the Lincoln Special when he came from last place with a powerful rush in the final quarter mile and won going away by almost two lengths. In that important victory he left Star Rover, Rockcastle, Pylades, Switch On, Motor Line and Park Dandy in his wake, while can*ying 114 pounds for his second win of the year. This feat has been* accomplished by only three jockeys in its previous runnings. McCreary won the Massachusetts with Mrs. Jacobs Stymie, shortest-priced horse to ever win this classic. High King, owned by the Gavegnanos, who reside in nearby Winthrop, Mass., will be flown here over the week end. He will be ridden by Johnny Adams who guided him to his only victory of the year at the Balmoral-at-Washington Park in May. His weight assignment for Wednesday is 107 pounds which will be the low weight among the starters. High King, lightly raced last year as he faced the starter only four times, was a highly regarded two-year-old in his first year of racing. His connections were elated over his possibilities, with the result that he was nominated for all the big three-ear-old races of 1956. His starts last year included the Kentucky Derby, Derby Trial and the Wood Memorial.
