GREEK DRAMA, forwardly placed but racing on the » outside early, took command entering the stretch and, responding to strong handling, held REPLACEMENT safe. The latter, also racing wide to the stretch, remained in the middle of the track for the drive and closed willingly but could not overtake the top one. NAPOLI took an early lead, was unable to stay with GREEK DRAMA and. faltered during the stretch run. YES R. raced evenly to the stretch but could not get to the-top ones when set down in the drive. REPELLED lacked early foot. BIG PRINT had early speed but failed to stay. DRY VERMOUTH began fast but dropped out of serious contention immediately after the start. COTE DOR was through early. BLUE LYRIC, a keen factor from the start, took command from VIKING VICTORY entering the stretch and, responding to brisk urging, lasted to withstand YANKEE BUCKLE but won with little left. YANKEE BUCKLE gradually improved position to the stretch, was taken out for the drive and, closing strongly under punishment, was getting to the top one at the finish. , LEONARDIAN lacked early speed but finished extremely fast under strong handling. SPANISH QUEEN raced well to the final furlong but faltered when nearing the finish. PUZZLER, outrun to the stretch, could not threaten the leaders when set down in the drive. VIKING VICTORY went to the front at once, set the pace 1 to the stretch, but failed to stay when challenged by BLUE LYRIC. HICKORY BLUFF, away sluggishly and outrun to the stretch, was sent to the outside for the drive and, responding to brisk handling, disposed of the leaders and won going away. "OL* BULLET raced evenly to the stretch, reached the lead between calls during the drive but was unable to stay with the-winner. CONDUCT CODE, a sharp factor early, was forced to the extreme outside entering the stretch and, after taking command near the furlong post, failed to stay. BETTER BE GAY, rank during the post parade and at the starting gate, was unable to reach serious contention. HUNG UP, away fast, raced with SEA BANG to the stretch but had nothing left for the drive. The later tired afer engaging HUNG UP to the stretch. KEUKENHOF was never prominent and had no mishap. HILL BARON had early speed but failed to stay. FOURTH RACE 1 MILE. DUCK HEAVEN, away alertly, raced OUR GUEST into" defeat before going a half mile and, after entering the stretch with a good lead, was briskly handled to withstand BUTWISER. The latter, in hand to the last three-eighths mile, drifted out at the stretch turn and, swerving repeatedly during the drive, could not overtake the winner. HARMONIZING, outrun to the stretch, was taken to the inside of BUTWISER during the final furlong but could not reach the top pair. TIMELY BULL lacked early foot and bore out entering the stretch. ROMAN REQUEST could not keep up after showing early speed. OUR GUEST raced with DUCK HEAVEN for a half mile, then gave way and was not persevered with during the late stages. The stewards flashed the objection sign after the finish and checked with patrol judges and viewed he films of the race before making the result official. FIFTH RACE 5 FURLONGS Widener Course. ROSE TRELLIS, forwardly placed from the outset, was unable to stay with the winner but was easilv best of the others. PONDICHERRY gave a good performance and had no mishap. BELMONT BREEZE, forwardly placed from the outset, took command from MR. HAWLEY after entering the stretch and retained a short margin to the finish. MR. HAWLEY took the lead at once, made the pace until well inside the stretch But could not hold the winner. EIFFEL BLUE raced evenly to the last quarter mile, was sent to the outside for the stretch run and closed strongly but coufd not reach the leaders. THIN ICE-moved up fast after the start, was forced wide entering the stretch and faltered when nearing the finish. BUSHER FANTASY lacked early foot and was never dangerous. FABULOUS FOX could not keep up after showing early speed and probably needed his race. SACI tired after racing well to Thrttretch. VESPUCCI stumbled at the break and lost his rider. WILLAMETTE, a sharp factor from the start, took command from PILLOW TALK entering the stretch, gave way momentarily to BAYOU between calls and then came again to best the latter in a game performance. BAYOU, outrun early, saved ground under a well-judged ride, reached the lead between calls during the drive but was not good enough for WILLAMETTE, although easily best of the others. WOODLAWN, well placed early, lost ground approaching the stretch and at the final turn when forced to the outside, dosed willingly when straightened up but could not threaten the leaders. HERE AND THERE, in hand to the last three-eighths mile, drifted out on the stretch turn and, swerving when punished, finished fairly well under a hand ride. PILLOW TALK took an early lead, set the pace until near the stretch and then weakened. JOLIE DEJA, on the outside throughout, tired after showing early speed. MAGIC FOREST made a bold bid nearing the upper turn and then failed to stay. GOLD FINERY bore in badly after the start and was unable to reach serious contention. NESHANIC raced far back throughout. LAND OPEACE, well placed early, was forced to the outside at the stretch turn and, responded readily when straightened for the drive, disposed of the leaders and won going away. PATROLMAN PETE raced evenly to the stretch, reached the lead between calls during the drive but could not stay with the top one. OCTAGONAL began alertly, lost command after going a quarter mile but came again to reach the lead during the stretch run and then weakened. EGOTISTICAL raced forwardly placed until inside the stretch and then gave way. TIPPECANOE began slowly and could not threaten the leaders. OLYMPIAS ACE raced wide. CIVET made a mild bid in the early stretch and then failed to stay. BIT-0-SPORT had no mishap. EL HAWA, forced back after the break, failed to recover. RETREAT raced prominently to- the final furlong and then stopped badly. NALUR, on the outside throughout, showed little. TROUBLE MAKER II. had no excuse. Overweight— Tippecanoe, 2 pounds.
