Delaware Cap Climaxes Big Three — 4 Renew Rich Distaff Event on Saturday Results of New Castle, CCA Oaks Provide Fairly Accurate Line-up of Brilliant Field By PALMER HEAGERTY DELAWARE PARK, Stanton, DeL, June 22. — The most publicized race of the Delaware Park summer meeting — the 10,000-added Delaware Handicap — features the coming weeks sport at this point. This test of a mile and one-quarter, for three-year-olds and upwards, is the worlds richest race for fillies and mares and is the climactic event of the "Distaff Big Three," which also embraces the Delaware Oaks and New Castle Stakes. Needless to say, the Delaware is a most eagerly sought event from the standpoint of the nations breeders, for a victory greatly enhances the prospective breeding value of the filly or mare. While it is impossible to determine a probable field at this time, a fairly accurate group will be selected following the running of todays New Castle and Coaching Club American Oaks, staged at this point and Belmont Park, respectively. From these races will come the bulk of the Delaware field, a fact which again stamps the starters as the survivals of the fittest. Only Two Not Eligible Of the New Castle entrants, all but Sorceress and Gay Warbler are eligible for the Delaware, though their respective efforts this afternoon will determine their starting potentialities. " Those eligible for the Delaware are Am-oret, Princess Turia, Little Pache, Rare Treat, Kings Mistake, Attica, Nasrina, Jane Gess, White Orchid, M an o tick and Tournure. The three-year-old star of the current season — Claiborne Farms Bayou — winner of the Delaware Oaks and other sophomore filly events, is entered in the CCAO, for which she is the pre-race favorite. Should she meet defeat in the New York event, it is reasonable to suspect that her conqueror will take on her more seasoned rivals in the Delaware if she is eligible for that fixture. In addition to the older fillies and mares competing in the New Castle, next weeks event likely will draw such members of the division as Brookmeade Stables Floral Park, a full sister to last years winner, Flower Bowl. Other topnotchers considered prospects are Mrs. Vernon G. Cardys Levee, King Ranchs Dotted Line, D. and H. Stables Par-dala, Lazy Ranchs Lagides and Cornelius V. Whitneys Magic Forest.
