PRECIOUS-STONE broke quickly but was. unable to keep up with the pace, then moved strongly on the outside through tne stretch to forge to "the front about midstretfh and win under hand urging. SHARPSBURG, close up early, tried for an opening next to the rail on the stretch turn, but was unable to make it, then continued on the inside to eventually get through and finish well. SMOKE SCREEN lacked early speed but came strongly through the stretch. ALIBILT was a strong contender for six furlongs, then began to weaken. PICAFRIEND had early foot. MYRTIS L. was rather slow to get in stride but rushed into good contention after going a quarter and, easily passing COTTON TOP in the stretch, won with something to spare. COTTON TOP set the early pace under steady rating and was easily second. AIR BATTLE was off poorly and closed much ground to finish fast. KIAMI turned in a steady effort. SAR-HAR was always outrun.
