BURNT THROAT gradually improved position and, coming to the outside of the leader in the stretch, was up in the last strides for a narrow decision. SLIGO ROCK , quickly set up a good lead into the stretch when the pacemaker tired and, under vigorous pressure, just failed to last. LYNN L. proved best of the others while lacking a rally in the final run. TUCK ME IN established the pace until midway of the final turn, then flattened out badly. WABASH MOON failed to enter contention. HELENS ACE made a bid after a half mile, then faltered. PEGMURF retired early. Overweight— Pegmurf, 3 pounds. SECOND RACE 6 FURLONGS out of chute. PINK SANDS, never too far back, responded to brisk handling into the stretch and, although drifting out the entire final run, wore down the leader and drew off. V-TWO quickly subdued BLUE WAYNE, drew off into a comfortable lead before a half mile, then could not cope with the winner. MELNA could not menace the top pair while best of the others. REQUESTING was forced wide on the -stretch turn when improving position. MISS SANDS, within striking distance early, faltered in the final run. Bt-UE WAYNE stopped to a walk. BULLETS had brief speed. BRIAN BORU, forced to lose ground on the first turn when rallying, closed with good courage when settled for the drive and was along in the late yards. HASTY GIRL saved ground throughout, slipped inside the leader entering the stretch to assume command and, under hard pressure, could not hold off the winner. SYFE established the pace, drifted out slightly into the stretch and held on well. MR. REDBIRD weakened under pressure. MOUNTAIN HOLLY could not enter serious contention., MR. BOILER PLATE rallied strongly into the stretch from the outside but hung in the final sixteenth. SILVER RAB came from far out of it with a strong, late burst. DUCAT was hustled to reach the early lead, drew clear before a half mile, then had little left for the final run. GREG made up a little ground in the last eighth. PILOT MODEL weakened. GOLDEN -SUN, kept in hand for the first three-quarters, was hindered slightly in the early stretch when ZOLT lugged in, was put to stiff punishment and, closing with a sharp burst of speed, wore down the leaders inside the final sixteenth and won going away. EAMOHE set the pace under light restraint, gave up the lead in the early stretch to STEPPING BOY. regained command again in the final sixteenth, then could not. handle the~winner. STEPPING BOY forced the pace, took command under pressure, then weakened slightly. ZOLT made a bid midway on the final turn from the outside, had to be carefully handled while attempting to lug in and- raced evenly. MR. MARCEY gave ground after a half mile.
