Traffic Judge Goes Easy Belmont Mile Metropolitan Winner Timed in 1 :42V£; Alanesian and Summer Tan In Light Preps v By Staff Corrcsiiondent BELMONT PARK, Elmont, L. I., N. Y., June 22. — Lou P. Dohertys Traffic Judge, winner of the Metropolitan Mile in his last outing, turned in a handy mile in 1:42 M» here this morning, only being asked for a flash of finishing speed. Jim Ma-loneys charge is eligible to next Saturdays seven-furlong Roseben Handicap. The same trainer sent "W. Haggin Perrys unbeaten filly, Alanesian, an easy six furlongs in 1:14. The three-year-old daughter of Polynesian, who has yet to make her 1957 debut, was in hand all the way. Sherrill Ward sent Mrs. John W. Gal-breaths Summer Tan five furlongs in 1:01, just breezing. The son of Heliopolis was under a snug hold and appears to be steadily advancing toward another comeback. Powhatans Pocahontas and Templeton Stables Clandestine, a pair of well-bred juveniles, turned in impressive half-mile preps. Clandestine, who is eligible to Wednesdays National Stallion, was clocked in :47, while the, filly was a tick slower. Grand Mogul Drills From Gate George D. Wideners Grand Mogul, a son of Nasrullah from Chaste Lady, went a half from the gate equipped with blinkers and showed trainer Burt Mulholland a fine turn of speed as he skipped the distance in :46%. He is not in the National Stallion, but has several other stakes engagements, Claiborne Farms Harrodsburg, a vNa-tional Stallion eligible, went an impressive five furlongs in company with Spring Violets. They were clocked in 1:00%, handily. The same stables Persia was clocked in 1:01%, also going handily. Mrs. Mary H. Hunters Royal Willow, who is in Wednesdays stake, impressed with five panels in 1:00%. Over on the slower training track, Mrs. Adele L. Rands Clem went a handy half in :49% in preparation for Mondays Withers Mile. J. R. Weiners Nitime went the same distance in :49% at Aqueduct this morning for the same stake, while Joe W. Browns Tenacious went a handy six furlongs in 1:15%. Over at Jamaica, Mrs. Jules Schwartz Wirey Marks, a juvenile half brother to Nah Hiss, went a handy half in :48 from the gate, indicating he is about ready for his debut.
