STONE OF SCONE responded willingly after settling into the stretch and, after wearing down the leader, won going away. LARK GLG disposed of WASTREL before entering the stretch, then shortened stride inside the final sixteenth. DINNER MUSIC finished gamely in the stretch run. WASTREL showed good speed "until the stretch where she weakened and came back lame. EVERY HOUR could not keep up. COUNTS BOUQUET had early speed. BELHAM could not improve position. SHOULD WE, favorably placed from the start, moved well in the stretch and wore down OLYMPIC QUEEN in the late yards. The latter disposed of MIG ALLEY leaving the far turn, opened up a comfortable lead but could not withstand the winner. THAT IT IS improved position gradually, but was no threat to the top pair. SOLDAT weakened steadily after a quarter mile. MIG ALLEY showed good speed down the backstretch before tiring. DARK ETCHING UNSEATED HIS RIDER DURING THE POST PARADE AND RAN OFF. HE WAS ORDERED SCRATCHED AND ALL MONEY WAGERED IN WIN, PLACE AND SHOW WAS REFUNDED. IN ADDITION A CONSOLATION DAILY DOUBLE WAS PAID ON HIM WITH THE WINNER OF THE FIRST RACE. PILOT MODEL, reserved behind the leaders, moved strongly-when called upon to assume command in the early stretch and withstood SOLE HEIRESS. The latter held a forward position from the start and made a good stretch bid. SEALED BID wrested command midway of the turn and faltered only slightly in the final run. FIRE KING had to be steadied going to the far turn, then closed-with a strong rush in the stretch run. ESSAYIST could not hold the early position, then closed well in the late stages. HERES A MISS quickly drew clear, attempted to pull herself up in midstretch and had to be punished to get to her task again and was not threatened. BLUE GLADE rallied willingly into the stretch but could not reach the winner. NOBLE BROOM made up ground without seriously threatening NEVER MIND closed ground in the stretch run. BONNIE STYLE moved into the lead when ready, drew off into the stretch, but was all out to hold off MOONTOWN. The latter was taken to the outside on the turn when rallying and finished with good speed. MOLLIE Z. remained close up after losing the early lead and held on fairly well. LITTLE FERD made a good move going into the stretch and then lacked a late response. FRONTIER SAGA dropped back on the turn while along the inside and then was going willingly in the stretch run. FAIRFIELD could not keep up after an alert beginning, was put to pressure after settling into the backstretch, gave an immediate response to rush to the leaders ana, after taking command, drew off under intermittent urging. TOTAL OSCAR rallied well on the final turn but was no match for the winner. BRASS TACKS held a forward position but had no late response. SEA CHANTY reached even terms with the leader while leaving the far turn, then yielded ground in the drive. MOTOR POOL wore down tiring horses. RUSSELL DANCER was always well along the inside on the final turn when she apparently was sent through tight quarters hitting STRONG LADY, threw that one and herself off stride, then recovered into the stretch and finished gamely. SIX TWO EVEN closed with a belated rush in the stretch run. SHADOW BOUND gave a good effort. PINKY JO held sway until midstretch, then faltered.
