New Jersey HBPA to Discuss Purse Policy on Saturday | GARDEN STATE PARK, Camden, N. J.. ; May 1. — Tommy Heard Jr.. president of the New Jersey division of the Horsemens Be-jnevolent .and "Protective Association, this afternoon announced that a general meeting of HBPA members has been called to begin at 10 oclock this Saturday morning at the American Legion Hall near the stable entrance, on Martens Avenue. Negotiations between the local .HBPA purse committee, headed by Heard, and the three New Jersey track, managements have thus far failed to produce a signed agreement on purse distribution for the 1958 season and the purpose of the special Saturday meeting will be for a general discussion of purse policy.
