The track record will receive a standard rating of 100 — thus, a horse equaling the record will have a speed rating of 100. For each one-fifth second slower than the track record, one point is deducted. Therefore, the rating for a horse running his race two and one-fifth seconds slower than the track record receives a speed rating of 89 aQO minus 11.
