WHY BILL moved to- the. leader leaving the far turn, wrested command into the stretch, and in a long drive proved best TOP FLUSH quickly drew clear and held on gamely when challenged by the winner. AMBOR REIGH rallied into the itretch, attempted to go between the leaders, apparently having sufficient room, but was forced to take up in the last strides when the opening closed up. DANCE-A-JIG was going willingly in the stretch run under punishment. FAIRMONT closed ground when too late. PONDER LEA showed little. BLENHEIM SUN had speed for five furlongs. BURKS reached closer contention going to the far turn and, rallying from he outside, wore down the leaders and held ARGOLD safe. The latter was well placed from the start, was slow in responding to pressure, but made up ground in the stretch run. WAR IS ELL gave way gradually in the final run after setting the pace. MR.- BAKER wrested command in the early stretch and then faltered KING FLUSH failedto reach contention. LOVELY DICE showed little. Attendance, 8,601; Total Mutuel Pool, 14,392.
