HAL-FLEAM was hustled from the start, assumed command before a quarter mile, saved ground to increase his margin and was all out to defeat LADDIE. The latter assumed early command, drifted out when riders foot slipped from right iron, continued wide and appeared best. TOOL PUSHER, a forward factor, lacked a late rally. NEWTON HIGH, slow to start, was going best of all at the end. ATOM RUSH had no mishap. LITTLE PEEP saved ground to better late position. MASTOLA BLUE, fractious at the barrier, was unable to keep up. HALT DENNY rushed boldly along the inside to near the pace, moved between horses near the end, but was not good enough. TI0 SANDY assumed the early lead, set the pace while guided to better going and weakened. JOES MIL rushed up on the extreme outside to loom as a threat and hung. SLEEK JEEP was in close attendance of the leaders, lacking a late rally. RAIN DEAR S. showed an even effort. PATS PICK dropped back at the start, rallied mildly, but was unable to menace. SUEDABAR kept close to the leaders and, saving ground, moved on even terms for command, then faltered. YOUNG ROMANCE weakened after five furlongs. SUNDAY BRIDGE caught tiring horses. JIMMYS FIRST moved into slight command soon after the start, established the pace most of the way, losing the lead inside the final sixteenth mile and, closing gamely under energetic handling, outfinished PRESS K. The latter took off the leader after a quarter mile, regained lost ground moving readily along the inside, gained slight command near the end and just missed. AILEENS PRIDE saved ground to near the leaders in the late stages. VELVET EXPRESS lost ground making her late challenge. HASTI NIGHT and HERON LAKE were outrun. NUTMEG LAD forced the pace, going wide on the final turn and weakened. TOMMYS MEMORY broke alertly, was unable to stay with the pace and lacked a closing rally. MONEY CALL passed tiring horses. UNCLE EDGAR, under steadying restraint for six furlongs, rallied when set down, but was unable to overtake the winner. SHELL DIVER saved ground while making his move but was unable to threaten.
