SKINNY CARLOCK, unable "to keepup in the early part, closed gamely in the stretch and was wearing down the winner nearing the finish. TUNEFUL lacked early speed, raced to the outside entering the stretch and, finishing gamely, wore down ELKO in the last few strides for second place. ELKO broke fast, showed early speed, but was tiring at the end. MISS GENIE tired badly. JUROR moved into contention entering the stretch, but tired. Scratched 10495 Crispie Book, 97. CHICARO BOY, well placed in the early running, wore down AURICA in the stretch and took a short lead, but could not withstand the winner. AURICA showed good speed setting the pace and held on gamely in the final drive. WILY GIRL, pinched back shortly after the start, finished gamely when clear. WINDY ROSS quit.
