APERITIF ALL THE WAY Daughter of Stimulus Proves Best in Handspring Handicap, Wednesdays Main Race at Belmont. NEW YORK, N. Y., May 29. Aperitif, the three-year-old daughter of Stimulus and Emma Helen, that races for the Howe Stable, came back "with another good race at Belmont Park today, when she was winner of the Handspring Handicap, an overnight-event that was the best offering of the Westchester Racing Association. It was a gallop of a mile and a sixteenth, and the filly made all the pace to. score over Mrs. John Hay Whitneys Old Story, with Willis Sharpe Kilmers Alberta just nosing out Rough Diamond for third. Continued delightful weather again brought out a big crowd and while it was a-card that was devoid of any particular feature the sport was thoroughly interesting. In this handicap there was little time lost at the stalls, and as the seven left Merritt at once went to the front with Aperitif, and-Old Story was closely lapped on her, while, Rough Diamond was just showing the way-to, Foxy Agnes and Alberta. This Aas the order going Into the first turn, where Rosengarten moved up with . Foxy Agnes and she took second place with a rush. As she drove alongside Aperitif the .j Stimulus filly quickened her pace to hold-the lead and the. pair raced along closely lapped. They were soon out two lengths, before the others, and as Rough Diamond-dropped back, it was Old Story that moved into third. Alberta was close after Mrs. Whitneys colt, but she had been rather badly messed about and was not striding freely. In the stretch Foxy Agnes had enough and dropped back from the contention, but Old . Story moved up strongly and for an instant Rough Diamond threatened to come on. Alberta had been .taken down on the inside -by Wright and she was racing dully under his . indifferent ride. Aperitif had plenty left for the run home and she was over the line winner by three lengths. Old Story had saved second place by a length, and Alberta, on her courage, just nosed Rough Diamond out for third. - A
